8 August - Sant Pere Pescador-L'Estartit

At 29.0km (18mi) and just under 40 thousand steps, this was our longest day. We walked for almost six hours and had a fairly big climb in the afternoon.

The day started out with a threat of rain.

We spent most of the morning walking through orchards and farmland.

Our route took us back to the Mediterranean ...

... through L'Escala ...

... along a rugged coastline ...

... then over a small mountain where the GR-92 markings became unclear. With the help of a Dutch man who was living in the area and was running trails in the hills, we got back on track and eventually reached a familiar endpoint.

In L'Estartit, we stayed at Hotel Nereida where we again had "half board" and ate a buffet dinner at the hotel restaurant.
