4 August - Barcelona to the Costa Brava

Allie and I said "Goodbye" to Martha in the morning. Our VRBO host, Marcel, had arranged a taxi to take her to the airport. Martha's trip home was long but uneventful - from BCN to IAD to PDX.

We had one more breakfast at Mauri ...

... then took a train to the Costa Brava to begin the through-walking part of this trip.

Our train journey began just a few blocks from our VRBO at the RENFE station connected to the Passeig de Gràcia Metro station. Our destination was Llança - about two hours north of Barcelona. We would start walking the Camí de Ronda there.

We walked to our hotel, Hotel Grifeu, just on the north edge of Llançà then took a walk into town.

Our hotel is the pink building on the left.

We found our first GR-92 marker! That would be our primary Camí de Ronda identifier on this trip.
"Downtown" Llançà ...

We had a late lunch ...

Back at the hotel, it was time to enjoy the beach and the view.

Our hotel was booked with "Half Board" - dinner and breakfast were included. Dinner was on the hotel's terrace restaurant and was delicious - a great way to prepare for the long walk ahead.
