7 August - Roses-Sant Pere Pescador

This was an interesting day. We began the day in Roses and ended in Sant Pere Pescador. We walked 26.6km in 5:13hr. At the beginning, the route was not well marked. Some local bicycle riders helped us to get back on course after we took about a 1K "detour."

We started out walking through some very peaceful farmland.

In Castelló d'Empúries, we found a castle ...

... and a PT clinic!

The scenery changed after lunch as we headed toward a natural park and the beach.

We were surprised by a White Stork sitting on its nest - one of 17 "lifers" for me on this trip.

The final leg of our walk on this day took us through more farmland and a LOT of apple orchards.

We rewarded ourselves with our standard Spanish treats ...

... then checked into Hotel Can Ceret.

It had been a great day of walking, but it was the last one that would be relatively flat. Dinner was good. We were tired.
